With its Tangiers Med 2 project,Tangiers port has come significantly consolidated the maritime transport market in the Gibraltar strait.

The construction works of Tanger-Med port was launched by the king back in January,2009.

The Tanger Med port will be in a good position to compete with Algesiras ports and take bigger operational and profit margins.

Though the commercial opening is scheduled in 2012,the initial operational phase is already here.In partnership with TMSA,The 15 billion investment budget is proving to be fruitful.

It is already becoming the first port in Africa and the Mediterranean with its 5 millions containers maritime transport capacity.

TANGER-MED PORT I had already been completed since 2007 with 3,5 Million containers.

This will certainly boost the import and export industry in the region and invigorate the implementation of free trade agreement with the European Union.

Tangiers med project is also expected to help jobs creation and foreign investment in the Northern part of Morocco.
